I got up early today. The whole house did in fact, as I'd set my alarm for stupid o'clock in the morning.
After a while, a ginger haired man on the radio encouraged everyone to ring a bell.
For three minutes I lay in bed and jingled eleven (18th to 19th century crotal bells), four stones with holes and a little old key.
All over the country, people were doing similar things. The reason - A musical piece - Work number 1197, by the artist Martin Creed, entitled All the bells.
"thousands of people across the UK will be joining together to ring in the first day of the London 2012 Olympic Games"
I'm not sure you could call it music, but it was quite noisy, and almost good fun.

I do love you Brits! :)
I love this... I wonder how you knew the man on the radio was ginger haired.
I have a special radio with flashing lights that identifies hair colour, of course! Only available in the UK unfortunately.
